Jez's New Wheels

Well, I decided it was time for a change. So, I've got a new set of wheels.

Here are some pics

Congratulations The Wood!!

No he's not pregnant (just rotund)

He is however, after a succesful viva, now Dr. Nerd which means that if he was pregnant he could deliver his own baby!

Congratulation Rich old boy, it's taken a long time getting there but well done on finishing (and getting) the PhD!

Good Work IT Nerd Type Fella

Pressure on

Spare a thought for your fearless SysAdmin as he does his Viva this afternoon

Free USB flash disk

Microsoft deeply want you to know that pirating Windows is wrong. They'll even post you a USB thumb drive full of information on it.

I'm sure no-one here would consider wiping the disk and reusing it. No-sir-re, bob. No word on how big it is, but what do you want for free?

You might want to not use you eggwan.com address for this, just to stop it looking suspicious.

Update: grrr, it says US only. But then again the website allowed me to enter UK details. I doubt it'll work but it didn't cost me more than 5 minutes to try!

Old jap 80's car ad

What's the best Jap car ever then? Skyline? Scoob? Evo?

No way. I've got to get myself an Isuzu Enigma.

It may look like a taxi, but just look what it can do! Check this out...

Lambeth Town Planning

Has anyone else seen a fax of this letter addressed to Lambeth Town Planning?

It purportes to be a letter sent by one Mr K T Slztolc to Les "Wanker" Brown, Asst. Director Planning of Lambeth Town Planning.

Interestingly enough (in my best John Motson voice) a Google search on Sztolc turns up the fact that a T Sztolc did used to work in HR for Lambeth Council a few years ago. Which poses the teaser that it might actually be real! I'd love it if it was.

It is damn funny. If it's real it's so funny it isn't true, if it's a joke it's still funny and I wish it was real!

The fax copy I have is so poor that it doesn't scan well. If anyone else has it and it will scan it would be cool to stick it up here. I'll stick up what I have.

New webmail client

I like Squirrelmail. It's very functional. But even I must admit, it's fallen out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down -- and only a mother could love that interface.

Here is our new Roundcubemail install. It's pretty, like gmail. It does things that webmail clients aren't supposed to be able to do, like drag and drop. Like gmail. It seems excellent.

BUT: it is very very early beta software. It might shave your cat, put water in your car's oil, delete all the emails on the internet. If it does, I don't want to know. If it breaks your PC into two small pieces in a smoking crater, you own both parts. Having said that, me and Toby are using it and it seems fine.

Halloween 2005 pics

Some long-overdue pics are here.

Dublin 2006 *hic*

New pics in the gallery of Dublin.

Fifi and I spent a fantastic time out there and I would heartily recommend Dublin to any potential travellers. There aren't pics of everything as I wasn't to be trusted after too much of the black stuff and too many glasses of Jameson with Bob's camera!

Are you a hungry man?

Then you need the Hungry Man's Breakfast.

You have to read all of this article. The bit I like best is this image. This, folks, is a frozen microwaveable breakfast that in one hit, supplies over 1,000 calories (570 of them from saturated fat!) -- and 231% of your daily cholesterol consumption.

Scary, scary stuff.

The same website did an equally brilliant writeup of the legendary McGriddle.
